Ryan Kalkbrenner is an American center who played for the Creighton Bluejays, a team in the Big East Conference, between 2020 to 2025. He attended Trinity Catholic High School and earned the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019. He joined the Bluejays in 2020 and made his debut for the team against North Dakota State where he recorded eight points and two offensive rebounds.
Kalkbrenner, who helped Team USA win the gold medal at the 2021 FIBA World Cup, achieved a number of milestones while playing for the Bluejays. He is a four-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-Big East First Team twice. Kalkbrenner, who was included to the All-Big East Second Team once, also won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award and the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year in 2025.
