Trayce Jackson-Davis is a 6-foot 9-inch power forward born on 22 February 2000 in Indiana. He is one of the prospects for the 2023 NBA draft. His athleticism goes back to his roots as the son of a former NBA player Dale Davis who played for 16 seasons with various teams. Trayce is heading towards a promising career in the professional league although there are certain elements to his game which still need polishing.

Throughout his high school and college career, it can be seen that some of his strengths lie in the fact that he has excellent athleticism, great defensive skills and playmaking abilities. At his height, he also has speed on his side which should give problems to bigger forwards trying to guard him. On top of that, he can manage his way to the rim effectively leading to some spectacular dunks. Being quick and athletic has brought about an effective transition game which makes him more dynamic as a player. Trayce has also shown a great ability to catch and shoot. On defense, blocks and switching are a major part of his game, especially as he can defend opposing guards as well.

A knock on his game comes from the fact that he is an extremely one-handed shooter. He has a dominant left hand but his right hand is practically non-existent and this allows the opposition to guard him better. As a result, he is forced to take tougher shots. Improvement on his jump shots, as well as free throws, is also a necessity for Trayce going forward. With that said, Jackson-Davis is predicted to be selected somewhere between the late first round and the early second round.

Which College did Trayce Jackson-Davis go to?

Trayce Jackson-Davis was born in Indiana and went to Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana. He had a decent high school career and really upped his game during his last two years there. Various analysts rated Trayce as a four-star recruit and although he had offers from many colleges, he decided to attend the University of Indiana.

In the four years of college, Trayce featured in almost all of the team's games each year and ended up scoring over 2,000 points. He had a good freshman year where he was named the Big Ten Freshman of the week on two occasions. He was quite effective in scoring points and grabbing rebounds as well as blocks. He stepped up his game further in his sophomore year increasing his average in both points and rebounds per game. In his junior year, he scored his all-time high of 43 points against Marshall and in doing so comfortably led his team to victory. Trayce kept his dominance intact and continued building his overall game both offensively and defensively.

However, it was in his senior year when he truly attracted attention. He had a spectacular preseason, one which led him to win many awards. The month of January was even more remarkable for Trayce as he averaged 23 points, more than 14 rebounds and over three blocked shots, which was paralleled only by Shaquille O'Neal and Tim Duncan in the past twenty-five years. Another feather in his cap came in the form of four consecutive Big Ten Player of the Week awards. This was a unique record as it had never been achieved before.
