DaRon Holmes II is an American power forward for the Denver Nuggets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He attended Millennium High School, Montverde Academy, and AZ Compass Prep School during his prep career. Holmes, was rated a four-star recruit, started his college career with the Dayton Flyers in 2021. He won the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year and Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2024.
Holmes was selected as the 22nd overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft. He was traded to the Nuggets for the 28th and 56th overall picks in the 2024 NBA draft along with second-round picks in 2026 and 2031 later. Three days after signing with the Nuggets, Holmes suffered an Achilles tendon tear in his NBA Summer League debut.
