College basketball player Kam Jones is a guard for the Marquette Golden Eagles, a team that competes in the Big East Conference NCAA Division I. He is in his Senior year as of June 2025. During his freshman season in 2021-22, he made his collegiate debut against SIUE and scored four points. He got his first start of the season against Jackson State, in which he managed to play for 24 minutes while recording eight points, five assists and two rebounds, as per his college roster. As a sophomore, his name was listed in the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off all-tourney team following his performance when he averaged 16.5 points per game, as per his college roster.

Jones went on to score a career-high 26 points, which he recorded against Wisconsin. After entering his junior season, he became the 51st player in the history of the program to register 1,000 career points with a 20-point effort against Butler. As a senior in the 2024/25 season, Jones averaged a career-high 19.2 points, 5.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds, as of June 2025 (via ESPN). He was one of five finalists selected for the Bob Cousy Award, which is presented to the nation's top point guard. Jones was one of the finalists for the Lute Olson Award for the national player of the year.

As a sophomore, his name was listed in the all-district after Jones averaged 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He was also named the team’s most valuable player in the 2018-2019 season.
