As a freshman in 2022, Emery earned selections in ESPN's True Freshman All-America team, College Football News' Third Team Freshman All-America, and the Freshman All-SEC team.

Over his four years, Catholic went 44-7 and qualified for the state title game in all four seasons. He earned a spot in the 5A All-State First Team and the All-District First Team in both 2020 and 2021. He was rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 12 player in Louisiana by 247Sports, and the No. 226 player on ESPN’s Top 300 list. Jones was also selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game.
