In the 2023 season, he played in eight games, starting seven of them, and led the team with 29 receptions for 422 yards, averaging an impressive 14.6 yards per catch. His performance included a standout game against Duke, where he achieved over 100 receiving yards for the first time in his career. Evans' season was cut short due to an ACL injury that sidelined him for the final four games.
