India's training camp venue for South Africa Test series shrouded in confusion

Team India does not know where they will be having their test camp prior to India-South Africa Test Series

Confusion with regards to the Indian cricket team’s training venue has erupted, ahead of the Test series against South Africa, to be held on November 5 in Mohali.

The camp is scheduled to commence on October 29. A few days break has been given to the players as they have been through the gruelling tour for close to a month. "The players have been asked to assemble in Delhi on October 28. The camp starts the very next day," said a source in the team management to Mumbai Mirror. Team director Ravi Shastri will oversee the camp.

However, the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) claimed to have no knowledge of the camp to be taking place at Feroz Shah Kotla. "We have been told it will be in Mumbai. I will check and come back," said a spokesman for DDCA. Later it emerged that the camp could be shifted to Mohali.

After last night’s disastrous defeat to South Africa at the Wankhede and losing the Paytm One-Day Series, it will be back to work for the Indian team. The South Africans will be off to Goa for a break.

"I think the off time that you have in between series is very important to manage”: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli emphasised on 'the time off' between the ODI and Test series rather than think about carrying the momentum from the ODI series into the Test matches.

"I think the off time that you have in between series is very important to manage. I would rather see it as being able to enjoy that off time rather than think that momentum will have to be taken into the Test series because you will have a different set of players and you will have a different format and start," the Test captain said when asked about the importance of winning the ODI series before the Tests.

Meanwhile, the South Africans have decided to fly off to Goa to unwind for a few days. They are expected back on October 29 for the two-day game against Board President's XI at the Brabourne Stadium on October 30 and 31.

A spokesperson for the Proteas, however, refused to talk about the break. "We don't want to divulge this," he said.
