India and Pakistan will play 2 T20I and 3 ODIs in India

Kolkata - A four-member team from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday expressed satisfaction with the facilities here ahead of the side’s One-Day International against India at the Eden Gardens on Jan 3 next year.

The PCB delegation, comprising its cricket operations manager Usman Walia, media manager Nadim Sarwar and two security officials Ehsan Sadik and Sohail Khan, visited the team hotel and went around the iconic venue after arriving in the city in the morning from Delhi.

“We came here to see the arrangements, logistics and infrastructure. We are satisfied and happy,” said Sarwar.

The recce team also called on city commissioner of police R.K. Pachnanda and discussed the security issues.

“We reviewed the security system. We are happy. We all know, Kolkata is a peaceful place.”

Sarwar was profuse in his praise for the eastern metropolis.

“Kolkata is special. We know the passion for sports here. There is lot of emotion for sports. The spectators are excellent.”

Asked whether Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari will be coming for the match, the media manager said: “Some important personality will come, but the name has not been finalised yet.”

The PCB has picked a 10-member delegation of former players, who will act as goodwill ambassadors in India during the much-anticipated bilateral series involving five games — two twenty20 internationals and three One Day Internationals.

“But we are yet to decide on the duo who would be sent to Eden,” he said.

CAB treasurer Biswarup Dey later said the names discussed for the Kolkata ODI are Majid Khan, Zaheer Abbas and Imran Khan.
