TAL Season 3: Gameweek 6 Preview – TAL “Crystal Ball”

Al-Fateh will be looking to make up for the points they dropped against FC Bengal last week

Division 2 enters the mid-season stage with an action packed Sunday on offer. We also have a postponed Division 1 derby between Rare Dare FC and Samba FC to kick off things. In the Division 2 games, we have a crucial game between Titans FC and Diablos FC.

Another game to look forward to will be Athlos United- FCB Sparta game. All in all, it makes for yet another exciting round of matches.

Division 1:

7:00 AM: Rare Dare FC v Samba FC

A rescheduled game from Division 1 kicks things off for the day when two familiar sides take the field in a derby clash. Samba FC and Rare Dare FC are two teams that know each other very well.

Though Samba are above their rivals in the table, it is Rare Dare who have shown the endeavor to go out and win games. Samba as always, have depended on their defensive solidarity. This should make for a keenly contested game although a draw looks like the most likely result unless Samba can sneak in a goal.

Crystal Ball: Rare Dare FC 0-0 Samba FC

Division 2:

8.30 AM: FC Bengal v Grasshoppers FC

FC Bengal take on Grasshoppers FC in the first Division 2 game of the day. FC Bengal maybe aggrieved after they drew a game they should have won against Al-Fateh, more so as they were the underdogs going into that game. Victory in that game would have been a huge boost for them, but their performance in that game suggests that they are in top gear.

Grasshoppers, though, look like a side that are not so sure of themselves and have used the break constructively. Given the current form and confidence of both sides, FC Bengal can be fancied to win this one.

Crystal Ball: FC Bengal 2-0 Grasshoppers FC

10:00 AM: Athlos United v FC Sparta Bengaluru

Next up at 10 AM is the clash between Athlos United and FCB Sparta. Both are solid, consistent sides that will give a tough examination to any team they are facing. Athlos have just begun to have a good run of games after stringing a few results together.

Sparta, despite being solid have not had as many good results but definitely have the personnel to pick up some points along the way. All this makes for a close game where the two sides might just cancel out each other.

Crystal Ball: Athlos United 1-1 FC Sparta Bengaluru

11:30 AM: FC Kudlu v Netbusters FC

FC Kudlu take on bottom dwellers Netbusters FC in the fourth game of the morning session. Netbusters have been dismal this season so far, a kind of form that is baffling to say the least, especially given the players at their disposal.

FC Kudlu have blown hot and cold and the rest of their season may depend on how good a replacement they find for their outgoing top scorer Akinwumi. Kudlu, though, did manage to hold Sparta to a draw in their previous outing and a similar performance might just be enough to earn them three points in this one.

Crystal Ball: FC Kudlu 1-0 Netbusters FC

1:15 PM: Joras v FC Brunton

Joras, who are currently tenth in the table, take on FC Brunton in the first game after lunch. Joras are yet another team that have been disappointing this season whereas Brunton are riding high after their win against Grasshoppers last time around. Joras have failed to gel as a side and will need more discipline in their ranks to do justice to their talent. Brunton will look at this game as three points that they must obtain to achieve their lofty ambitions.

Crystal Ball: Joras 0-2 FC Brunton

2:45 PM: Al-Fateh v FC Lawless

Al-Fateh take on FC Lawless in the penultimate game of the day at 2.45 PM. Al-Fateh dropped their first points of the season while also conceding for the first time in their game against FC Bengal. Their invincible aura has now diminished and teams will be gunning to knock them off from their perch.

FC Lawless, given their own troubles may not be the team that does that though and will be hoping to avoid any repercussions their opponents’ previous result will trigger. Al-Fateh should romp home in this clash and an upset looks very unlikely.

Crystal Ball: Al-Fateh 3-0 FC Lawless

4:15 PM: Titans FC v Diablos FC

The game of the day is reserved for last when Titans FC take on Diablos FC. Diablos were held to a surprise draw by FC Lawless last week, a result which caused them to concede top spot. Titans meanwhile, were swept aside by Al-Fateh, leaving them in 5th place.

A lot of work needs to be done before they can get back in contention for promotion. Given the importance of this game and the experience of the players, Diablos might edge this one, although Titans have all the ammunition in place to cause the first major upset of the season.

Crystal Ball: Titans FC 1-2 Diablos FC
