Gameweek 4 of TAL (Season 2) was filled with action as goals flew in from all directions as 4 out of the 6 matches had 5 or more goals scored in them. Horizons FC and Saints FC are running away from the pack whilst Mercurial FC, Indian Ocean and Rare Dare FC are yet to register a win.
Mercurial FC 0 – 2 Samba FC
The opening match of GW4 had Mercurial FC pitted against Samba FC under a brisk sunlight that was grazing the new, lush green grass. Both teams were cautious to start with and the game went into half time all square at 0-0. Despite a few changes by Samba, not much changed in the second half until Harith Balakrishna managed to find the opener with less than four minutes left. With Mercurial then pushing forward to find an equaliser, Samba again hit on the counter attack, this time through UmeshCherukate to take all 3 points.

Yataghan BFC 4 – 2 Project 7
Yataghan BFC bounced back from their flat performance against Saints FC last week as they came from behind to defeat Project 7. Project 7 went up early on in the game through Rahul Singh but Yataghan BFC struck back immediately through GautamRajagopalan. Yataghan went on to score two more courtesy a brace from Andreas Lehmann but Rahul Singh struck again just before halftime to make things interesting. Yataghan became more defensive in the second half but managed to find a fourth to kill the game off.
Saints FC 8 -1 Rare Dare FC
The highest goal scoring game of the season saw Saints FC give Rare Dare FC a drubbing as Saints FC ran riot, scoring eight past their opposition. AkshayRawat opened the flood-gates in the first minute and they then went to consistently score throughout the game. AkshayRawat scored four goals to go on top of the goal scoring charts. RDFC managed to find a consolation through Surjith TJ in the 43rd minute but they never looked to be in the game right from the first whistle.
Gremio FC 0 – 5 Horizons FC
Horizons FC maintained their unbeaten record ( with no goals conceded yet) as they scored five past Gremio FC andretained their lead over Saints FC on goal difference. Gremio FC played well in the first half and wereunlucky to concede a penalty which saw them go into halftime a goal down. Horizons FC cranked up the intensity in the second half causing Gremio to lose their discipline and formation. Horizons FC then scored four more with impressive performances by Alex Praveen and Sushruth Gopal in midfield.
Indian Ocean 3 – 4 Mavericks FC
The most entertaining game of GW 4 saw Mavericks FC take all three points in a topsy-turvy game that featured seven goals. Indian Ocean conceded in the 2nd minute but bounced back strongly by scoring the next three goals.
With the game almost two thirds done, a two-goal cushion should have been enough for Indian Ocean to pick up their first win but a few lapses in concentration saw them concede3 goals in the space of 12 minutes to ensure a thrilling finish to the game. Indian Ocean had a flurry chances to equalize again but the Mavericks defence stood firm for in the final minutes of the game to keep the score line intact.
FC Kougen Kikou 1 – 3 Flipkart FC
The final game of the day saw FC Kougen Kikou falter against Flipkart FC who are solidifying their place at the top of the table. Both teams were evenly matched in the first half and a cautious approach ensured that they went into halftime with much to ponder about.
Flipkart returned the stronger team after the break and found 3 goals in quick succession to ensure they came away with all three points. The return of PavanPowarfor Flipkart added strength and pace to their attack. FC Kougen Kikou then scored a consolation goal with the final kick of the game that did not change the outcome.
