Andrew Thomas is an American football offensive tackle for the New York Giants as of the 2024 NFL season. The New York Giants selected him with the 4th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Thomas played as a left tackle. In the sixth week of the 2021 season, Thomas suffered an ankle injury, ultimately placing him on the injured reserve. In 2022, Thomas had to undergo surgery for the same left ankle he had injured in the previous season. The following season, Thomas was extended for another five years, and his contract included $67 million guaranteed at signing which set a new NFL record for an offensive lineman at the time.
Thomas enrolled in Pace Academy in Atlanta. Subsequently, for collegiate football, Thomas joined the Georgia Bulldogs Football Program despite having offers from Florida, Alabama, and others. As a freshman, Thomas started the games at right tackle but switched to left tackle in his sophomore year. Following the season, he was named a first-team All-American and the first-team All-SEC. In 2020, to enter the NFL draft, Thomas decided to forgo his senior year as he was projected to be a potential first-round pick.
