When talking about regular season peaks, very few can match the output and productivity of one Andy Dalton. Born in Texas, he spent the majority of his life in the area, both in high school and college. After starting just one year as a quarterback for Katy High School, in which he led the team to a state finals appearance, Dalton moved on to the collegiate level. After redshirting his freshman year, Andy moved into the starting lineup for his sophomore season. A mediocre performance, with a lone bright spot appearing in the form of the Texas Bowl MVP performance, hopes weren’t looking high for Andy.

But, over the next 3 seasons, he completely flipped the script. With a combined record of 36-3 over those years, Dalton accumulated pedigree and accolades at a ridiculous pace. Poinsettia Bowl MVP, along with 2 MWC Offensive Player of the Year Awards solidified his standing among the elite quarterbacks at the collegiate level. He became the most accomplished quarterback in TCU history, setting records for wins, pass attempts, pass completions, and passing yards.

With the 35th overall pick, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Andy Dalton in the 2011 NFL Draft. His rookie season would become a microcosm of his legendary regular season tenure with the Bengals. Even with strife for the starting position, Andy provided a strong showing in October, earning Offensive Rookie of the Month. His strong gameplay continued with special notice of his efficiency as a passer. Due to his sublime play, the Bengals found themselves back in the playoffs. However, a three-turnover-led effort by Dalton squashed their season against opposing rookie T.J. Yates and the Houston Texans. It was the first time in NFL history that two rookie quarterbacks were starting a playoff game. Dalton compiled four fourth-quarter comeback wins in a season that saw him become the fifth rookie ever to accumulate 3,000 passing yards to go with 20 touchdown passes. He even won Pro Bowl honors as an alternate, joining Cam Newton as the first pair of rookie quarterbacks to make the Pro Bowl in the same season. The same story would play out for the rest of Andy’s career.

What is Andy Dalton’s Height?

Andy Dalton has a recorded height of 6 feet and 2 inches or 1.88 meters. Andrew Gregory Dalton was born on October 29, 1987, in Katy, Texas, where he spent the vast majority of his pre-NFL career. Even with a slight disadvantage height-wise, Dalton became a prolific regular-season player. His sharp vision, along with an eye for receiver A.J. Green became immediately apparent as the two set the record for completions as well as yards between a rookie quarterback and receiver duo.

Over the next 8 years of his career, Dalton led Cincinnati to five consecutive playoff appearances starting his rookie year, even making 3 Pro Bowl games. However, during his entire tenure, Dalton could not lead the Bengals to a single playoff victory. While he was phenomenal in the regular season, with his near-perfect height aiding his vision and passing accuracy, those advantages did not particularly help by the time the postseason rolled around. Even though he is one of ten NFL quarterbacks to throw for 3,000 yards in each of his first three seasons, his tenure in Cincinnati remains marred with disappointment. The franchise leader for passing yards and touchdowns in a season could not embark on that legendary playoff run.

As a result, the team released him following four consecutive losing seasons, finding an immediate replacement in the form of Joe Burrow. Since then, the team has already been to a Super Bowl, while making a Conference Championship Game as well. While he currently plays for the Carolina Panthers, he also had stops as a backup/starter for the Cowboys and the Saints in the intermediary years.
