Is Cam Newton still with the Panthers?

Last Modified Aug 9, 2023 14:38 GMT

Cam Newton is a professional American football player who plays for the National Football League and is currently a free agent. He goes by the moniker "Super Cam" and is the second in the list of quarterbacks with the most running yards and touchdowns in NFL history.

Cam moved to Alabama to play for Auburn University after moving from Atlanta, Georgia, where he was born and raised. He was a junior at Auburn when he won the 2011 BCS National Championship Game and the Heisman Trophy. He was a highly regarded prospect, and the Carolina Panthers selected him first overall in the 2011 NFL draft.

Cam is a former MVP who attempted to lead the Carolina Panthers to the 2015 Super Bowl but was unsuccessful. He is a dual-threat quarterback, but he has yet to claim a title.

Even if Newton has not officially retired, no team has chosen him as of July 2023. Since he is a free agent, a team can decide to sign him for the upcoming campaign.

Does Cam Newton still play for the Carolina Panthers?

No, Cam Newton does not play for the Carolina Panthers anymore. He was released by the team in 2021 after a brief stint with the team. He is currently a free agent and is yet to sign a deal with any of the teams in the NFL.

Newton played nine seasons for the Carolina Panthers before moving on to New England Patriots for one season and then was brought back to the Carolina Panthers until they released him.

2015 was one of the best seasons for Newton where he won the NFL MVP and led the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl but they ultimately came short of winning the chip after Denver Broncos defeated them.

It will be interesting to see who may Cam Newton sign with in the future as he has not retired and is looking for a new deal.
