School

Doug Pederson started his head coaching career by being the head coach of Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States in 2005. There, he served as the head coach for four years. During this time, he helped the school football team to gain a win-loss record of 33-7 in the regular season and 8-3 in the postseason. He also coached and led this team to the semi-finals and eventually helped them become district champions for the first time.

Philadelphia Eagles

Doug Pederson came to the NFL with this team. In 2009, he joined this team as an offensive quality control coach under head coach Andy Reid. He remained in that role until he was made the quarterbacks coach in 2011. During his time with the team, he helped Michael Vick achieve 3,000 yards in passing and 500 yards in rushing plateaus. This made Vick achieve a career high of 253 completions and pass 3303 yards. He also had 18 touchdowns which was his third most touchdowns in his career. He departed from the team along with Andy Reid.

Kansas City Chiefs

This was the next team in Doug Pederson’s NFL coaching career. He joined the team in 2013 as an offensive coordinator along with Andy Reid. He coached the team from 2013 -2015 and helped them achieve a win-loss record of 31-17 in three seasons. At the same time, he coached Alex Smith, the quarterback and helped him to achieve 3000 yards in three consecutive seasons. It was the most productive part of Smith’s football career. He became a head coach candidate in 2016 because of his contributions to the team.

Philadelphia Eagles

In 2016, Doug Pederson rejoined the Philadelphia Eagles as the head coach. He started coaching Carson Wentz as a rookie starting quarterback. Although the team ended the season with a win-loss record of 7-9, Carson Wentz passed 3872 yards with 379 completions and 16 passing touchdowns.

During his second season as a head coach, Doug Pederson helped the team win the NFC East Division Championship. Although Carson Wentz was injured Nick Foles stepped up to the challenge. He helped the team reach the Super Bowl LII and win it by a 41-33 score against the New England Patriots. The team also earned their first Lombardi Trophy in the process. Nick Foles was declared as the MVP of the Super Bowl. Following this, the team extended Pederson’s contract till the 2022 NFL season.

Unfortunately, the 2018 NFL season was not as successful for Doug Pederson. Despite this, the Philadelphia Eagles managed to get into the postseason and beat the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round.

In 2019, Doug Pederson helped the team win their second NFC East Division title. They also appeared in the playoffs for the third time and defeated four opponents consecutively before ending their season. Malcolm Jenkins led the defense with a tackle score of 80 while Miles Sanders led the offense with 1327 all-purpose yards and 818 rushing yards.

Doug Pederson tested Covid-19 positive in 2020. He came back to the team in August 2020. In that season, Brandon Graham led the team with 8.0 sacks, the third most sacks in the NFL. Carson Wentz passed 2620 yards with 16 touchdowns and Jalen Hurts passed 1061 yards with 6 touchdowns. Miles Sanders posted 867 rushing yards, thereby helping the team to post the ninth most rushing yards of 126.7 of the league. He left the team in 2021.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Doug Pederson took a break from coaching in 2021. He joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. Then, under his guidance, Trevor Lawrence passed 262 yards with 3 touchdowns which helped the team beat the Los Angeles Chargers with a score of 38-10. Although the Philadelphia Eagles defeated his team, Pederson switched jerseys and jackets with Jason Kele while also receiving a standing ovation.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were the winners in the division for the first time since 2017. In the Wild Card Round, Riley Patterson scored a field goal in the final three seconds that saw the team defeat the Los Angeles Chargers with a score of 31-30. However, they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round by a score of 27-20, thereby ending their 2022 season.
