Garrett Wilson, a wide receiver for the New York Jets, was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft as the #10 overall pick by the Jets. The Chicago, Illinois-born Wilson was raised in Dublin, Ohio, and later moved to Austin, Texas, for Lake Travis High School. Following this, being a five-star recruit, he opted for the Ohio State University in 2019. He was named the first-team All-Big Ten in 2020 and the second-team All-Big Team in 2021.

Garrett Wilson's High School

Wilson's brilliance in school, athletic distinction, and community involvement earned him the title of All-American Bowl Man of the Year, according to the Ohio State website. At Lake Travis High School, where he played for head coach Hank Carter, he had 1,151 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns, although he missed a portion of his senior season due to injuries. In his junior season, he had 98 catches for 1,774 yards and 32 touchdowns. He totaled 204 receptions for 3,359 yards and 55 touchdowns throughout his time in high school.

The Statesman named Wilson the 2017-18 Central Texas High School Athlete of the Year. The three-sport athlete at Lake Travis also attracted Division I scholarship offers. As a basketball player, he averaged 21 points per game and was named to first-team All-Central Texas.
