American football tight end Hunter Henry plays for the New England Patriots as of December 2024. The Los Angeles Chargers drafted him as the 35th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Henry earned the PFWA All-Rookie team honours as he appeared in 15 games in his rookie year. After five seasons and 45 appearances for the Chargers, Henry was traded to the Patriots in 2021. In his debut year with the Patriots. Henry appeared in all 17 regular season games recording 50 receptions for 603 yards. He also led the league for receiving touchdowns (9) in 2021.

After 103 appearances and 83 starts, Henry averages 11.7 yards per carry while scoring 38 touchdowns. Henry has been a consistent player in the NFL except for the injury in 2018. Henry was sidelined for the full season after tearing his ACL during organized team workouts on May 22, 2018. He was put on the physically unable to perform list on September 1, 2018, which allowed Henry to make a comeback later in the season.

Hunter Henry attended the University of Arkansas playing for the Razorbacks from 2013 to 2015. Henry appeared in 12 games starting seven of them as a freshman in college. With 28 receptions for 409 yards and a team-high-tying four touchdowns, he was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team, Freshman All-America, and second-team All-SEC. He was the only freshman tight end in the SEC to have a 100-yard receiving game, and his receiving yards were third in the country among freshmen tight ends.

Henry became a regular starter in his sophomore year as he appeared in all 13 games. He recorded 37 receptions for 513 yards and 2 touchdowns. Henry had a breakout junior year in 2015. He recorded his first and only 50 receptions-season in college with 51 receptions for 739 yards in 2015. Henry was honoured into several teams like USA First Team All-American, Coaches First Team All-SEC, USA Today All-SEC Team, John Mackey Award Winner, and ESPN.com All-SEC Team.

Hunter Henry attended the Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. He played multiple positions such as offensive tackle, defensive end and wide receiver. During his high school career, he did not play tight end because the position was not included in Pulaski Academy's Spread Offense strategy. Starting his sophomore, junior, and senior years, Henry helped the Bruins earn a state championship in 2011.
