Jonah Elliss is a former defensive end who played three years of collegiate football at the University of Utah. Elliss is a native of Moscow, Idaho where he was born on April 3, 2003. Elliss’ father, Luther Elliss is a former NFL player who played 10 seasons in the league mostly for the Detroit Lions before finishing his career with the Denver Broncos in his last season. Elliss also has three older brothers playing in the NFL as of April 2024.

Elliss attended Moscow High School before joining the University of Utah for his higher education. He played on the Utah Utes football team where he was given generous playtime even in his true freshman year.

From 35 games over three years, Elliss has a total of 78 tackles of which 23 were tackles for a loss of 146 yards. On top of that, he had 16 sacks for a loss of 123 yards, three pass deflections, three forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.

The downside for Elliss is that he is one of the smaller players at his position standing only 6 ft 2 inches and weighing around 246 lb. This also has led to him being overpowered by bigger offensive linemen which could be a cause for concern in the professional league. Furthermore, his average bend does not allow him to turn tight corners.

NIL deals have quickly become a popular addition to collegiate sports in the United States. A program that benefits not only product-based companies but also student-athletes in college is a great benefit for all. While brands use these athletes for exposure to their products, the athletes in return get some form of returns mostly cash-based.

Jonah Elliss is one of the higher-paid athletes when it comes to college football as his current NIL evaluation stands at $533K as per the On3 website. He has a roster value of $464K while his NIL value is $69K as of April 2024. His overall NIL valuation places him on the 86th spot in terms of college football NIL rankings.
