After signing with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, he guided the team to many victories. In 2019, he led the team to the Divisional Round, where they defeated the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 27–10 and advanced to the NFC Championship where they beat the Green Bay Packers by a score of 37–20. After winning the NFC Championship, they finally advanced to the grand stage of the Super Bowl in 2020, but unfortunately, they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 20-31.

History repeated itself when Kyle Shanahan's 49ers met the Chiefs again at the Super Bowl LVIII. The 49ers showed heart in the first half of the match and led the game. But the Chiefs came back storming to take the game into overtime. A touchdown in the closing second of the overtime, courtesy of a pass from Patrick Mahomes, shattered the 49ers' dream of winning the Super Bowl once again. The Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22 in overtime.

Kyle Shanahan appeared in his second Super Bowl as a head coach, when the 49ers played against the Kansas City Chiefs on February 11, 2024, in Super Bowl LVIII. The results did not go in favor of Kyle Shanahan and Co. as the Chiefs defeated them in overtime by a score of 25-22.

Kyle Shanahan's Personal Life

Kyle Shanahan married his high school love Mandy Shanahan, and after years of dating, they got married in 2005 and since then they have been together. Kyle and Mandy Shanahan have been blessed with 3 amazing kids; two daughters and one son. Stella is the eldest daughter who was born in 2007, Carter is the middle son who was born in 2008 and Lexi is the youngest daughter who was born in 2012.

Mandy Shanahan is around 43 years old right now and she was born in Colorado in 1980. She played volleyball during her college years but after marriage, she stays at home and supports her family. Kyle Shanahan has said a couple of times that his wife Mandy is his biggest supporter, and he wouldn't be where he is if it wasn't for her. Kyle and his wife Mandy do not share much about their personal lives and keep their children out of the spotlight.
