Hailing from Texarkana, Texas, he attended Pleasant Grove High School in his hometown, where he was a consensus four-star prospect, according to 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN (via LSU official page). After high school, he committed to LSU, where he played in five games during the 2021 season. Following that season, he transferred to the University of Arkansas. He concluded his collegiate career with 116 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks.
