David Lane Johnson is an American football player for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 NFL season. Drafted fourth overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, Johnson has been a key player for the Eagles throughout his career. On March 24, 2023, Lane Johnson signed a one-year, $33.445 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles (via Spotrac). Johnson is a Super Bowl LII champion, a six-time Pro Bowler and a multiple-time All-Pro honoree, as of January 2025.

Johnson was born in Groveton, Texas, and attended Groveton High School, where he excelled in football and track. He began his college career at Kilgore College before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. There, he played for the Oklahoma Sooners football team from 2009 to 2012, as per Oklahoma Sooners' official website.

Johnson started out his high school football playing the position of quarterback at Groveton High School. When he reached college, he was playing both the quarterback and tight end positions in his freshman year for the Kilgore Rangers football team (via the official website of Kilgore).

After his freshman year, Johnson transferred to the University of Oklahoma and played four years on the Oklahoma Sooners football team. Since playing quarterback was a limited opportunity, he continued to play tight end in his sophomore year. Further, in his junior year, Johnson moved over to the defensive end position. However, since the offensive line of the team suffered several injuries, the coach, Bruce Kittle switched him over to the offensive tackle position in his junior season.
