Layden Robinson is yet another 2024 NFL draft prospect. Robinson is an offensive guard in gridiron football who spent the past five years playing college football at Texas A&M University. Robinson began playing the guard position in his high school days. Growing up in Manvel, Texas, he attended Manvel High School and came out as a three-star recruit.

2019 was Robinson’s freshman year at Texas A&M, but after playing in only two games, he ended up redshirting. His real taste of collegiate football came in 2020 as a sophomore yet he featured in only 32 snaps from 12 games for the Texas A&M Aggies football team.

Robinson started seeing more action on the field in his junior season as he played 622 snaps from 10 games and also earned his first start at right guard. It was a good season as he didn’t allow any sacks while giving up only 8 quarterback hurries, and one quarterback hit. In his senior year, he had some difficulties and gave away 4 sacks, 20 quarterback hurries, and 11 quarterback hits. As a fifth-year senior in 2023, Robinson had a better outing giving up only one sack, 5 QB hits, and 10 quarterback hurries from a total of 691 snaps.

Overall, Robinson will require much work once he enters the professional level in the NFL. At 6 feet 5 inches, and nearly 315 pounds, he has the physical ability to play at the highest level but his technique will require refinement, especially as a pass rusher. He also possesses a strong grip once he gets his hands right and tends to play the waiting game rather than leaping toward the defender, but going up against speedy defenders may cause him a problem or two.
