Mason Taylor played college football as a tight end at Louisiana State University from 2022 to 2024. On December 6, 2024, he announced via Instagram (@mason_taylor99) that he would forgo his senior year and enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Taylor is LSU’s career record holder for tight ends in both receptions (129) and receiving yards (1,308), becoming the first tight end in program history to reach 100 receptions and 1,000 yards (via LSU official website).

According to Sports Reference, Taylor recorded 38 receptions for 414 yards and 3 touchdowns in 14 games in his freshman year. In 2023, he had 36 receptions for 348 yards and 1 touchdown in 12 games. In 2024, he finished his college career with 55 receptions for 546 yards and 2 touchdowns in 12 games. In high school, he played football for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in South Florida, as per his college profile.
