Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nakobe Rashod Dean was born on December 13, 2000, in Horn Lake, Mississippi. He was a third-round pick (83rd overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his rookie year with the Eagles, Dean made an appearance in all 17 games. Dean grew up attending Horn Lake High School playing under Coach Brad Boyette. Dean won the 2018 High School Butkus Award. The five-star recruit was ranked highly among his class as he also played in the 2019 Under Armour All-American Game. Dean was ranked first nationally among linebackers and 14th overall by 247Sports. He was also ranked first in Mississippi as he led Horn Lake to an MHSAA Class 6A State title with a 15-0 record in 2018.
Dean committed to the University of Georgia playing for the Bulldogs from 2019-2021. He was the co-winner of the Newcomer Defensive Player of the Year in his freshman season as he finished with 25 tackles appearing in all 14 games. He had a breakout 2021 season as he won the Butkus Award which is given to the top linebacker in high school. Dean over three years in college football, appeared in 39 games recording 168 total and 89 solo tackles.
