Shane Steichen is a football coach from America. He is now the head coach for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL).
Born in Sacramento, California, United States, Shane Steichen initially was a football player before becoming a coach. He used to play at the University of Nevada. There as a senior, he was notable for five touchdown passes thrown in overtime against New Mexico at Sam Boyd Stadium on October 14, 2006. Despite this, his college team lost to New Mexico with a score of 39-36. At the end of his collegiate career, he had 22 touchdowns and 2755 yards along with 355 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. After his college career, he switched to become a football coach and has trained several NFL teams till now. Shane Steichen has grown in his coaching abilities over the years. However, he has yet to win a Super Bowl in his career.

Cleveland Browns
This was the next team that Shane Steichen coached during his NFL coaching career. He joined the team in 2013 under head coach Rob Chudzinski as an offensive quality control/quarterbacks coach. He helped improve the quarterbacks as part of his role. During his time with the team, he coached and prepared three quarterbacks namely Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell. Resultantly, each of them posted 300-yard passes in their performances despite suffering from numerous injuries. He stayed with the team until 2014 when he departed.
San Diego/ Los Angeles Chargers
In 2014, Shane Steichen rejoined the San Diego Chargers as an offensive quality control and coached the wide receivers till 2015. He helped improve players like Keenan Allen, Malcolm Floyd and Eddie Royal during this time. As a result, these players were able to perform 50+ receptions for the fourth time in the history of the team.
In 2016, Steichen was promoted to be a quarterbacks coach. He worked and improved the quarterbacks, especially Phillip Rivers who became 2nd in passing yards, 4th in touchdown passes and 4th in completions. He continued this performance for the next four years. He also became the top ranked passing offense of the league in 2017.
In 2019, Shane Steichen was made interim offensive coordinator of the team. By that time, the team’s name had again changed to Los Angeles Chargers. Under his guidance and coaching, the team continued with their improving performance throughout the season.
Shane Steichen became a full time offensive coordinator in 2020. He helped prepare Justin Herbert and in return, the rookie established NFL rookie records in passing touchdowns and completions. The Los Angeles Chargers transformed themselves into an improved team under the coaching influence of Shane Steichen. He departed from the team in 2020.
Philadelphia Eagles
Shane Steichen next joined the Philadelphia Eagles as an offensive coordinator under head coach Nick Sirianni in 2021. He played an influential role in helping quarterback Jalen Hurts improve his playing style. Resultantly, he completed 265 of 432 passes with 3144 yards and 16 touchdowns with 9 interceptions and scored 87.2 as a starter. Shane Steichen also worked with DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert to improve their performance. At the same time, he also coached and helped Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson get their Associated Press All-Pro Recognition.
Under his coaching, the rushing offense of the team improved a lot. He continued guiding the team during the 2022 NFL season by working with Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Miles Sanders.
During the Pro Bowl selections in 2022, the team was leading the NFL with eight selections. Steichen ensured that the offensive part of the team gave their best efforts in their games.
