What is Trevon Diggs' 40 time?

Trevon Diggs led the league in interceptions in 2021 with 11, which was the most anyone ever had since 1981. This is one of the most impressive stats that we have heard of in a while. Meanwhile, he gave up 18.7 yards per catch which is not quite impressive. So this left a lot of debate between the fans wondering if his cons weigh heavier than the pros. He is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL but also has a lot of room for growth. Nobody has more interceptions than Diggs since he entered the NFL with 18 so far. Diggs is a high-risk-reward type player but the Cowboys would rather take chances with him.

It is not known whether his 2021 season with 11 interceptions was a fluke or pure skill. However, he is still raw with his talent and has yet to find consistency in the field. Dak Prescott is arguably the most debatable Cowboy on the roster but right behind him is Diggs. Diggs was targeted heavily on coverages and was targeted 7th most times during coverages. He can get beaten by double moves or get caught out of position. Diggs also tends to commit penalties which at times becomes costly for the Cowboys’ defense. While the upside is tremendous, he may still require some more time to reach his full potential as a player.

Despite the lack of polish to his game, Diggs is still worth it. He is a true ballhawk and is known for his exceptional ability to intercept passes at times. He has a knack for anticipating throws, reading quarterbacks and where they intend to throw the football. The last time they had a player like him was when Deion Sanders was still active.

Diggs ran a 4.42-second dash at the 2020 NFL combine. He displayed his amazing speed and athleticism and this is as good as it gets for a cornerback in the NFL. He did not beat the likes of Deion Sanders who ran the 40 at 4.27 seconds but was nevertheless impressive.

His speed is evident when one watches him operate on the field. His quick feet and speed are arguably what helped him get 11 interceptions in the 2021 season. Diggs also uses his speed to prevent offenses from making deep passes and making big plays.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, Diggs suffered an ACL tear during a practice session and was sidelined for the rest of the 2023 season. The Cowboys are still playing well despite losing Diggs and are currently ranked second in the NFC East.
