After playing football at the University of San Diego, Dalton Kincaid transferred to the University of Utah. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 season was cut short with Kincaid barely playing any games. Over the next two years at the University of Utah, Kincaid shaped up to be a very good offensive player, playing the position of a tight end and making an impact in college games. His college career at the University of Utah saw him record a total of 16 touchdowns and 1400 receiving yards. In 12 games (nine starts) as a senior, he emerged as Utah's premier receiving threat. As a draft prospect, Dalton Kincaid promises to be a unique offensive player with great catching technique and ability. His speed and agility would allow him to catch contested throws and provide his team with more options on offense. Furthermore, Kincaid seems to be able to stress the defense’s coverage and can manage to open up the field with extended routes. However, his athleticism and physicality have not been rated highly indicating that Kincaid might have a problem challenging physical defenders and running complicated routes that may require a variance in speed.
Kincaid’s draft combine results indicated a time of 4.71 seconds on the 40-yard dash, 6’4” height and athleticism score of 77, earning him a 2023 Combine TE rank of 10. He had a total score of 88 and a production score of 90 earning himself a 2023 Combine TE rank of 1. Overall, he is projected to be a good starter within two years of playing in the league.
