Bangalore team Learning to Fly wins Bangalore Ultimate Open

Learning to Fly, a Bangalore based team wins the Bangalore Ultimate Open beating Auroville’s Spinnergy from Pondicherry in the final at the Aditya Sports Complex.

Ultimate is a team sport played using a flying disc. It is a budding sport in India, though it is a popular sport in the West. The championship saw several teams participating with most teams having 12 to 54 players.

Indian badminton ace Saina Nehwal was the chief guest of the event. She even tried her hand in the sport and she admits it’s not as easy as it seems.

” Although it seems fun, the sport is not very easy to pick up immediately. Other sports need to be promoted because cricket gets all the attention and sponsorship,” said Saina about the sport.
