‘Good Ol’ Jim Ross, has finally decided to retire from his legendary 20 year WWE career.
Considered to be ‘The Voice of the Attitude Era’, JR made his debut in the year 1993 in Wrestlemania 9. He was supposed to work a play-by-play alongside Bobby Heenan.
From here, JR slowly became the voice everyone of us heard during WWE’s prime moments the Attitude Era.
JR will always be remembered for his outrageous reactions that helped the likes of Stone Cold and the others become what they are today. It is hard to imagine that the Attitude Era would have been the same without JR.

Though JR never was involved with WWE directly, he helped WWE by making special appearances and surprise returns. He helped fill in the shoes of Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler after Jerry suffered from a heart attack last year.
Also, JR had been actively working with the development team of WWE in Florida and helped young wrestlers rise to the top.
WWE.com posted the official news and stated the reason behind is retirement as JR’s intention to ‘focus on business ventures’.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross announced that he is retiring from WWE today, after 20 years of service, to focus on his personal business endeavors.
Jim has had a long and storied career at WWE, both on the corporate staff as well as his television persona, calling some of the most memorable matches in WWE history as the voice of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown for more than two decades.
He made his debut with WWE at WrestleMania IX in 1993 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 by his long-time friend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
JR has his own signature JR’s BBQ which he intends to promote and make big.

Ross thanked the fans for their response on twitter
He also posted on his personal blog JRsBBQ.com where he mentioned
“So, at the age if 61 it’s time to close this chapter of my life and begin exploring new, adventures while my health is great.”
Jim Ross had one of the greatest careers as a commentator and is undoubtedly one of the greatest to have ever made it to the announcers table.
Despite his problems with Bell’s Palsy, JR gave his best for which the WWE Universe thanks him heartily. We wish JR the best in his future endeavors and hope that he is successful in retirement.
