WWE Rumors: Possible reason behind Dean Ambrose's recent decision to leave WWE 

What's the story?

It has been reported over the past few hours that Dean Ambrose has decided against signing a new WWE contract and will leave the company following WrestleMania and the events of The Royal Rumble could be the reason for this.

In case you didn't know...

Dean Ambrose hasn't been used effectively over the past few months, since his return from injury back in August. He wasn't even able to hold the Intercontinental Championship until The Royal Rumble, a match that saw him being eliminated by Aleister Black on Sunday night.

It's obvious that frustration is the biggest reason why Ambrose is looking to walk away from the company, but there could also be a link to The Royal Rumble this past weekend.

The heart of the matter

WrestleVotes revealed ahead of The Royal Rumble that there was a huge shock in store as part of the show. Many believed that this was Nia Jax's involvement in the men's Royal Rumble match, but now it appears that it was a segment that included Dean Ambrose.

It appears that Dean Ambrose was supposed to be part of a much bigger angle at The Royal Rumble and the fact that this was later changed could have impacted the decision for the former World Champion.

What's next?

Dean Ambrose is still contracted to WWE until after WrestleMania, but it could be that if WWE has nothing for him storyline-wise in the coming weeks, then he can decide to leave the company much earlier than his contract expiry. It is unknown what kind of impact this will have on his wife Renee Young's position in WWE or if she will decide to leave alongside her husband.
