WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One: 5 botches you probably missed

There were several small botches that could have been missed last night at WrestleMania

For WrestleMania 37 WWE ran with the tagline "Back in Business," but it could be argued anything that could have gone wrong last night did just that.

The biggest show of the year was at the mercy of the weather. At one point the show was delayed by more than 40 minutes as a lightning warning was issued for the Tampa area.

WWE was able to fill the time whilst waiting for the storm to pass, but in that time the rain came down and the open-air arena got a little wet. This was something that would later come back to haunt the company as the puddles that formed on the ramp and around the ringside area later became an issue for stars in their matches.

The following list looks at just five botches or mistakes that happened as part of last night's WrestleMania Night One show.

#5. Mandy Rose slips on her way to the ring at WrestleMania 37

Titus O'Neil's slip en route to the ring back at The Greatest Royal Rumble almost three years ago is still an iconic WWE moment and it appears Mandy Rose could gain the same level of attention.

The former Tough Enough contestant was making her way down the ring as part of the Tag Team Turmoil match alongside Dana Brooke when the slippery surface following the rain became a real problem.

Rose stumbled and then completely slipped onto the floor, whilst her partner Dana Brooke just continued to walk down the ring and seemingly ignored the issue. Luckily, Rose wasn't injured by the fall and was able to pick herself up fairly quickly and tried to walk off any embarrassment.

Rose later updated her Twitter account to address the stumble and the fact that whilst every WWE star wants to be the trend at WrestleMania, there are perhaps better ways to do so.

It's hard to believe Mandy Rose was the only star who fell foul to the weather conditions at WrestleMania. AJ Styles almost became another victim later in the night but was able to stop himself from falling, which is why it was less noticeable.

#4. Lana completely misses the kick at WrestleMania

The Tag Team Turmoil match at last night's WrestleMania has been hailed as perhaps the lowest point of the night. There were several botches throughout the match and obviously Mandy Rose's entrance was the most memorable point.

That being said, Rose wasn't the only female wrestler to suffer when it came to botches last night. Lana missed several moves in the WrestleMania match, with one of the most obvious errors coming when she tried to kick Billie Kay and completely missed.

It was another incident where the commentary team noted that "she didn't get all of it," but Billie Kay bumped it anyway since she was supposed to have been hit.

The fact that Lana and Naomi are former dancers means that the two women are often able to become quite speedy in the ring. But this also leaves them open to more botches than any of the other women, which is a problem in itself. Last night just wasn't the night for Lana and Naomi, who will now head back to RAW to refocus and regroup.

#3. The EST of NXT arrives at WrestleMania

It was this time last year as part of WrestleMania 36 that Bianca Belair officially arrived on the main roster and a year later she main evented the biggest show of the year.

When Belair was promoted to WWE's main roster, she brought her NXT nickname with her, but became the EST of WWE instead, which still has quite the ring to it.

Last night at WrestleMania, Belair made her way to the ring as part of the biggest match of her wrestling career, and while the former NXT star was heading down the ramp, the screen read "EST of NXT" which was quite the throwback.

Of course, this isn't something that Belair had any idea about and it didn't affect her concentration as she main evented the show alongside Sasha Banks and went on to become SmackDown Women's Champion.

Banks and Belair made history in the first-ever WrestleMania women's singles match and a small production blunder wasn't able to take away from the moment both women deserved.

#2. The Riott Squad were eliminated from Tag Team Turmoil at WrestleMania?

The Riott Squad were one of the teams to compete in Tag Team Turmoil last night at WrestleMania, but were not able to win the match or a shot at the Women's Tag Team Championships.

Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan controlled much of the match and were the ones to eliminate both Carmella and Billie Kay as well as Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke. The issue here was that it seems the announcers were not happy with Brooke and Rose being eliminated from the match.

Liv Morgan was able to get the pin and eliminate the RAW Superstars from their WrestleMania match, but the announcer made the wrong call when it came to who was eliminated, which only severed to confuse the situation.

The right announcement was later made and Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose made their way to the back, whilst The Riott Squad continued to push forward in the match. They were unable to seal the victory over Tamina and Natalya.

#1. Did Sasha Banks kick out of the Kiss of Death at WrestleMania?

Sasha Banks put her SmackDown Women's Championship on the line against Bianca Belair in the main event of last night's WrestleMania.

Belair won the opportunity to challenge for the title when she outlasted 29 other women in The Royal Rumble back in January. Since Belair chose Banks as her opponent, the two women have become part of one of the hottest storylines in WWE and last night Belair was able to finish up as Champion.

The EST of WWE's Kiss of Death finisher hasn't been kicked out of since her promotion to the main roster and last night she was able to use it to win the Championship, even though Michael Cole believed otherwise.

Banks was down for the count and Belair picked up the win. But when Belair let go of The Boss' legs, it appeared that Cole thought she had kicked out. The arena was going wild because Belair had won her first WWE Championship at WrestleMania, whilst Michael Cole was convinced there was actually a kickout.
