Bengals TE sends message to Mac Jones' girlfriend as QB ditches Massachusetts state tax for sunny Florida

Mac Jones will start the next chapter of his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars this season. His girlfriend, Sophie Scott, bid farewell to their time in New England with an Instagram post this week. However, his former teammate is giving the couple something to look forward to in their move from Massachusetts to the Sunshine State.

Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki commented on Scott's post. He and Jones were teammates in 2023, during Gesicki's only season with the New England Patriots. Gesicki, who spent five seasons with the Miami Dolphins, shared that the warm weather, beach days, continual sunshine and, of course, no state tax were some things to look forward to.

“Hello beach, 75 degrees Christmas Day, the staying up later than 3:45pm in December, and no state tax.”

Jones was drafted 15th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with the team, initially as the starting quarterback. However, his tenure with the organization ended tumultuously, as he lost his starting job to Bailey Zappe.

The Patriots, who are essentially in rebuilding mode, traded Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a sixth-round pick on March 12, 2024.

Sophie Scott shared a snapshot of her and Mac Jones' time in New England. The post comes two months after the former Alabama quarterback was traded from the Patriots to the Jaguars.

Scott shared photos of herself and other Patriots significant others attending games at Gillette Stadium. She also shared a few photos of herself and Mac Jones attending the NFL Honors ceremony as well as on the sidelines before a game.

Sophie Scott said farewell to New England after Mac Jones' trade to the Jaguars.

She also shared another photo of the couple with Jones' parents at training camp. The post received over 16,000 likes and comments.
