Nevertheless, it may be too costly for some fantasy baseball managers to hold onto some of these players. Depending on the roster sizes and team needs, hanging onto slumping players can be the difference between winning and losing weekly matchups. It may not be easy, but sometimes moving on is the best move in these situations.

Five players fantasy baseball managers should move on from in their leagues

#1 Gleyber Torres

It has been a disappointing season so far for Gleyber Torres, something that New York Yankees fans are not shy about calling out.

The veteran infielder, who is in the final year of his contract, has struggled mightily at the plate this year. Although he has been hot lately, he has been a massive disappointment all season.

There has always been optimism surrounding pitchers when the move to the Tampa Bay Rays, something that was true when the club acquired Aaron Civale last season. The fact that the Rays have a reputation for maximizing their pitching staff led to managers taking a shot on Civale later in drafts.

Well, it's safe to say that things have not paid off for fantasy baseball managers who took on Aaron Civale in drafts. The veteran pitcher has struggled this season, posting a 5.92 ERA and a 2-4 record over 32.2 innings this year. It might be time to cut ties with the Rays starter.

#3 Justin Turner

Justin Turner started the season as one of the few Toronto Blue Jays players producing at the plate.

However, the veteran has struggled to maintain that level of production, causing many fantasy managers to consider his spot in their lineups. After a hot start, Turner has seen his batting average drop to .231 while also hitting only four home runs with 16 RBIs.

#4 Mitch Garver

Mitch Garver has been a fantasy baseball staple at the catcher position, which led to plenty of excitement for him entering 2024, that being his move to the Seattle Mariners has not gone according to plan, as the veteran has been dreadful at the plate.
