Joe Buck wouldn't "bet against" Tom Brady making NFL return amid $375,000,000 FOX job in loop

Tom Brady has been officially and happily retired since the 2022-23 season ended. Since then, he has been focusing on his off-field ventures, like his partial ownerships in various sports teams and his 10-year, $375-million commentary gig with Fox, which begins this season

But if the seven-time Super Bowl champion ever decides to return to playing football, veteran sportscaster Joe Buck, who called three Super Bowls featuring him (XXXIX, XLII, and LI) will not count himself among the many who will be surprised. In a Questions for Caner Research interview with Chris O'Gorman on Thursday, he said:

“I would never bet against him... I don’t know him very well at all, but I think that would be a stretch. But if there is anybody who could do it, I would say it’s him.
“Would I be floored if it happened or if he came back and somehow guided a team into a postseason? No. I think he knows with his savvy, mind, and experience, he could get through a game - maybe if he was 60.”

Tom Brady speaks up on his decision to become FOX analyst

The impending Tom Brady era is projected to be one of the biggest in FOX's history of covering the NFL. Fans either eager to see it succeed or hoping that it fails to further vindicate the tenure of Greg Olsen, who had been moved back to the No. 2 team.

If the man himself is asked however, then he will say it was a "no-brainer". Speaking to former opponent Michael Strahan during his upfront presentation on Monday, he said:

"There are a lot of opportunities that have presented, but walking out of my first meeting with Fox, they reminded me so much of the amazing teammates that I had over a long period of time.
“To be a part of the game that I love with a league that I love and obviously be a part of the greatest telecast in football every single week was also a big part of the decision.”

Brady's first assignment will be the Dallas Cowboys-Cleveland Browns game on Sept. 8. Other than that, Fox has not disclosed which games he and Kevin Burkhardt will cover.
