A mistake from Joe Hart allowed Scotland to score their opening goal in this week’s friendly against England, but Manchester City Manuel Pellegrini will speak to the keeper following his error. The manager is pretty convinced with the keeper’s form and has no concerns over it.
The manager, who starts his EPL campaign this Monday against Newcastle, told the Guardian he might speak to Hart on Saturday.
“I think Joe Hart has to demonstrate why he is the best goalkeeper in England every week he plays. He is a very important goalkeeper, I have a lot of trust in him. Everyone can make an error but I have a lot of trust in him and I am sure he will again this year show why he is the No1 in England.”
The manager believes that with a great transfer session and a good pre-season, team is prepared for the season ahead.
“Absolutely, [we are] ready,” the Chilean said.
“We made a very good pre-season, working for about 40 days with all the players, knowing each other more. We played seven friendly matches with different starting XIs so most of them had a very similar average of minutes so we have a full squad to choose from for Newcastle.
“I think we have the squad we need for the year, not only for [the] Premier League but also [the] Champions League.
