Exploring the possibility of Ric Flair turning on Sting for this former WWE champion

Although Ric Flair has arrived on AEW to ride along with Sting in his final journey, he can also pull a major swerve on The Icon by aligning with this former WWE star to surprise everyone.

This past Wednesday on Dynamite, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made his surprising first-ever AEW appearance. The Nature Boy was revealed as Sting's gift from Tony Khan after The Icon announced that he would retire from in-ring competition after the Revolution 2024 PPV.

Flair hugged The Icon and commended his legendary wrestling career, also claiming him to be the nicest person. The two shared a heartfelt moment in the ring before they got rudely interrupted by former world champion Christian Cage. Christian then went on to disrespect Flair, saying that he would've been dead 20 years ago.

Furthermore, the TNT champion also threw a challenge for The Vigilante and Darby Allin for a trios match at Full Gear with a partner of their choosing. Later, Darby and The Icon approached Adam Copeland to be their partner, and he reserved his decision to take on his best friend, Christian, at Full Gear.

Assuming the trios match would eventually be made official for the Full Gear PPV next month, Ric Flair could also be at Stinger's corner. However, The Dirtiest Player in the Game could pull a major swerve on The Icon by betraying him, helping Christian Cage's team to capture the victory.

This could also be a setup in case Flair is in plans for The Vigilante's last match, as the two have been long-term rivals, and one turned on the other decades ago as well. Moreover, The Icon's last match against his biggest rival would be fitting as well.

Sting would wrestle his first big match after months

Prior to the announcement regarding his retirement at Revolution 2024, the 64-year-old legend last wrestled in an AEW ring back in August at the "All In" event in Wembley, where he teamed with Darby Allin to defeat Christian Cage and Swerve Strickland in a coffin match.

Meanwhile, The Icon will be wrestling another multi-man PPV match if the match against Christian, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne becomes official. Moreover, it will also be one of his last matches before hanging up his boots next year. Henceforth, only time will tell what Tony Khan has in plans for Sting.
