Former WWE Champion CM Punk’s future has been the most debated topic in the wrestling world for the last few weeks.

There have been a lot of rumors that were swirling around suggesting that the Second City Saint would be on his way to WWE. Contrary to that, there have also been reports that this wasn’t the case.

Punk’s move to World Wrestling Entertainment was seemingly in the water after reports emerged that he was backstage at an IMPACT Wrestling taping in his hometown of Chicago.

Whether or not that was a coincidence is up to the fans' imaginations, but it would make a lot of sense for IMPACT to bring in CM Punk, especially after they announced this week that they would be returning to the TNA moniker once again.

A former rebel moving to TNA. We have seen that movie before. The likes of Kurt Angle, Booker T, and Hulk Hogan come to mind.

However, in all this, one thing is intriguing. Has Triple H really given up on bringing Punk back to WWE?

Will CM Punk move to WWE this year?

With the timely announcement of IMPACT Wrestling becoming TNA once again, it will definitely make the job for Triple H much harder. A clean slate with the guarantee of being the marquee star and the chance to bring the company back to its former glory could be too hard to ignore for Punk.

Adding to that, many top stars do not like Punk and have a genuine disdain for the man – two of them being Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

Rollins has gone so far as to make comments in live interviews that Punk needs to stay away from WWE. The former AEW World Champion is not one to forget old grudges that easily, and Seth’s words would no doubt have stung.

On top of that, even if Punk did come back to WWE, there is not a very high chance that he will be the top guy anymore. Names like Cody Rhodes and LA Knight are being groomed to be the next big stars, and that will not sit well with the ‘Best in the World.’

So the much-talked-about second debut at Survivor Series this year seems like a pipe dream, and any possible future move will hinge on a lot of factors for both Triple H and Punk.
