We are winding down towards the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics, with just a couple of sports concerning Indian interest left. The one major one on Thursday will involve PV Sindhu, who has been simply staggering in the women’s singles badminton event. She will play her semifinal against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara.

The third of the female wrestlers will also be in action today, with Babita Kumari competing in the Women’s 53kg qualification. She would be hoping to add another wrestling medal to India's coffers after Sakshi Malik's heroics yesterday.

In addition, golfer Aditi Ashok will try to continue her good form from yesterday, as the women's golf event heads into Round 2.

But the big talking point will of course be Sindhu, and whether or not she can confirm India’s second badminton medal at the Olympics, to follow in the footsteps of Saina Nehwal from 2012. Even if she loses today, she will still be in with a shot at bronze, against the loser of the other semifinal between Li Xuerui and Carolina Marin.

All matches will be shown live on the Star Sports network and DD National.Feed available on hotstar.com as well.
