Saina strolls into quarterfinals of Malaysian Super Series

Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal thrashed Chinese Taipei’s Shao Chieh Cheng 21-19, 21-8 to enter the quarterfinals of the Malaysian Super Series here Thursday.

The world No.4 took just 31 minutes to dispose of her opponent with some brilliant net play and powerful smashes.

Saina had to play catch-up in the first game as Cheng raced to a 6-2 lead and held on to it with the score on 15-19. The 21-year-old suddenly woke up from her slumber and won the first game with six straight points.

The second game was all Saina as she did not allow her opponent from Taipei to settle down and finished her off easily to set a date with two-time All England champion Tine Baun of Denmark Friday.
