LA Lakers superstar Anthony Davis appears confident ahead of the team's opening night game against the Golden State Warriors. With the season opener also being the Dubs' championship ring ceremony, the Lakers superstar has every intent of ruining the joyous occasion.

NBA basketball returns with a bang as the 2022-23 season tips off in less than a day. With the NBA's opening night featuring some of the best teams facing off against each other, fans can barely contain their excitement.

Opening night is also a matter of celebration for one team in particular. After a successful postseason run, the defending champion Golden State Warriors will mount their title defense in the new season.

However, the LA Lakers hope to be an obstacle in the way. Lakers superstar Anthony Davis, in particular, has taken up the onus of ruining this joyous moment for the Dubs.

In an interview during the Lakers' training session, Davis was asked about the upcoming schedule. Considering that the Purple and Gold face off against two title contenders right off the bat, LA are in a tight spot. However, the big man took note of this and said:

"Our first two games are against two title contenders. It's always good to spoil a ring night. My mindset is going up and starting the season with a couple of W's."

Anthony Davis' confidence is certainly a promising sight for Lakers fans. Considering that the Warriors recently extended two key players prior to the deadline, the Dubs look more than formidable. However, Davis hopes to be a key factor in kickstarting the Lakers' title aspirations.

The Lakers are coming off a rather miserable series of showings in the preseason. With a 1-5 record, it seems very difficult to count on the Purple and Gold heading into the regular-season.

But considering that their one win was against the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers may still have some hope of putting on a competitive fight.

The LA Lakers will have championship aspirations heading into the 2022-23 season. However, the team may face some struggles with regards to building momentum early on.

Coming up against the Golden State Warriors, the Purple and Gold will certainly look to their key players to step up. However, Anthony Davis will be vital towards mounting a winning effort.

Having Davis on the floor is a promising sight for the team. His display in the preseason also offers some hope for his performances going forward.

With newfound confidence and a revitalized jumpshot, AD was dominant against the Dubs in their preseason meeting.

Notching 28 points in 21 minutes of playing time, Davis had his way against Warriors youngster James Wiseman. While this may have been a solid showing, it is important to note that the Warriors were without Draymond Green in this game.

Considering the influence Green has on the team, Davis will be required to put in a lot more effort on the offensive end. However, AD will also benefit from having LeBron James on the floor with him.
