Ja Morant's problematic behavior will have serious financial consequences. The Memphis Grizzlies guard recently signed a deal with the Coca-Cola Company to promote Powerade, a popular sports drink.

Morant had already made a commercial with Powerade, but it was taken down by the company. The ad was originally supposed to air during March Madness 2023. However, it doesn't appear that this will happen.

The company has not yet decided whether to cut ties with the 23-year-old superstar, who is currently away from the team. Despite this, it seems that the commercial will not air during the basketball tournament.

Why Ja Morant's ad with Powerade has been removed

Morant's ad with Powerade has been removed from the company's social media profiles. In addition, Coca-Cola removed the two-time All-Star from its website, which is not a good look for him.

The biggest reason for this is the behavior the Memphis Grizzlies superstar exhibited over the past few weeks. Morant was seen allegedly flashing a gun in a live Instagram video, which is why he's facing serious consequences.

Coca-Cola's affiliation with Ja Morant has resulted in a lot of negative press. Due to this, the company has decided to distance itself from the superstar for the time being.

The 23-year-old guard was supposed to be the face of Powerade's new marketing campaign. However, he's been involved in a lot of controversy lately, which is why companies and brands are reluctant to partner with him.

The ad with the troubled star was originally supposed to air during March Madness 2023. While it has been taken down, there is still a chance that it will air at some point as the tournament concludes on April 3.

Morant is currently away from the Grizzlies and is working on dealing with stress and his well-being. Once he returns to action, Powerade may decide to air his commercial.

The gun incident was not the only Ja Morant controversy

The gun incident was a straw that broke the camel's back. Morant reportedly beat a teenage boy in the summer of 2022. The superstar guard allegedly flashed his gun during the altercation as well.

Earlier in the 2022-23 season, Morant was involved in a laser incident. Someone from the vehicle that was carrying the Grizzlies player pointed a laser at the Indiana Pacers after the game.

All of these incidents, combined with a couple of troublesome tweets by Morant, have ruined his reputation. Due to this, it's no surprise that Coca-Cola has decided to take down his Powerade ad.
