New Orleans Pelicans star wing Brandon Ingram turned heads on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies. The former LA Lakers star threw down a nasty two-handed alley-oop dunk over Defensive Player of the Year candidate Jaren Jackson. Jr.

Ingram overcame a slow start to finish with 24 points, six rebounds, a career-high tying 13 assists and two steals. He also hit a series of clutch shots down the stretch of the game.

Brandon Ingram and Pelicans stage comeback to stun Grizzlies in overtime

New Orleans Pelicans second-year forwards Herbert Jones and Trey Murphy III

The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 138-131 in overtime on Wednesday night. They managed to do so after trailing by as many as 19 points in the second quarter, before rallying late in the game to force OT.

New Orleans had three players finish with 30-plus points in the win, led by second-year forward Herbert Jones. Jones recorded a career-high 35 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks and five 3-pointers on 52.4% shooting.

Veteran guard CJ McCollum recorded 31 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six 3-pointers on 62.5% shooting. Meanwhile, second-year wing Trey Murphy III added 30 points, two rebounds, four assists, three steals and seven 3-pointers on 50.0% shooting.

Brandon Ingram's 24-point contribution played a massive part in the win as well.

In total, the Pelicans shot a blistering 21-for-39 (53.8%) from beyond the arc while the Grizzlies shot just 12-for-36 (33.3%).

Memphis, meanwhile, were led by star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. Jackson finished with a game-high 40 points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists and four blocks on 46.4% shooting. The Grizzlies were notably without star point guard Ja Morant, who was out due to hip soreness.

With the win, New Orleans was able to secure a play-in spot in the Western Conference. The Pelicans (41-39) sit eighth in the West with two games remaining. Meanwhile, Memphis (50-30) is second in the West with two games remaining.

The New Orleans Pelicans will next play on Friday against the New York Knicks (47-33, fifth in the East). The Memphis Grizzlies will also be in action on the same day and will take on the Milwaukee Bucks (58-22, first in the East).
