One of the most awaited clashes of IPL 2018 is here. Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore have had classics in the past, has always been billed as the 'Southern Derby' and when you look at some of the names in both camps, you can bet your life on another classic.

These sort of encounters can prove to be extremely hard for fantasy players while picking their teams. Here are some suggestions:

The big names

Virat Kohli has made runs, AB De Villiers got his form back after a splendid knock last game and then there is Suresh Raina on the other side who has contributed in a vital way in the last two matches.

All these three are big names in the IPL and hence, all three are going to cost heavily as well.

So how do you fit in all three? Do you bank on all three in the first place to succeed? Leaving even one among the trio can prove to be dangerous.

Either you need to have that gut instinct and take a punt or pick all three and hope for the best.

But how feasible is it in the first place to pick all three? How do you manage to fill up the rest of the squad in that case?

Guys like Harshal Patel and Deepak Chahar can help you balance the squad in terms of money but you are compromising big time in that situation. And that might still not be enough.

As the fans get geared up for the Southern Derby, you get a chance to play your own game of fantasy - StarPick is the new one on the block, and it has a lot of exciting features along with millions in prize money. You can create your StarPick team here.

Ideally, one of them has to be left out and that call can make or break users in this particular match. In that case, it has to be one among Kohli or De Villiers. By the law of averages, take a punt on de Villiers this time because surely CSK will have some plans up their sleeves for the South African after his exploits against DD.

No to pacers, Yes to spinners

Do not completely count on Chinnaswamy favouring batsmen. We have seen signs where the slower bowlers have found some success here off late. So if anything, avoid picking pacers as much as you can and instead focus on spin.

The likes of Umesh Yadav, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood (if he plays) might find it difficult to contain the boundaries so the safer options seem to be Karn Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal or even Washington Sundar.

The Dhoni conundrum

So Dhoni has been in good touch recently and he has a large fan base who will be tempted to pick him in their teams.

There is no questioning about his ability to cause carnage especially in this form but once again there are question marks over his batting position.

If CSK opt for the same team, I don't see Dhoni batting at No.4. He could come in at five or even six for that matter by promoting Billings.

So investing heavily on Dhoni and then watching him not bat could be crucial for your fortunes.

Anyway, in case you pick all three - Kohli, Raina and de Villiers, I don't see how you can pick Dhoni.

Bravo tipped to shine

Smaller boundaries, a track that could assist bowlers who can take the pace off the ball, death overs specialist who can end up with loads of wickets, I think everything has aligned for Bravo here.

Even if he can bat a couple of overs at this venue, he can contribute a quickfire 20 and then chip in with the ball.

With his ability to bowl the slower ones to good effect, Bravo might find purchase on this surface. He might very well hold the key for CSK tonight for you as well.
