Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) comfortably by eight wickets in IPL 2024 on Friday (April 26) at the Eden Gardens. They made history by chasing down the highest-ever target (262) in all T20 cricket.
Openers Sunil Narine (71) and Phil Salt (75) hit brisk half-centuries and gave a sensational start to KKR after the PBKS captain asked them to bat first. The middle-order batters didn't waste the platform set by the openers either. They powered Kolkata Knight Riders to a massive score of 261/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, PBKS did the unthinkable by chasing down the mammoth target in 18.4 overs without dropping much sweat. Punjab opener Jonny Bairstow hit a phenomenal century and remained unbeaten till the end to see his side home in the record-breaking chase.
