T20 World Cup 2022: India Player Ratings vs Australia as stunning Shami over seals warm-up game

Team India left it late in their T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up game against Australia but eventually got over the line by six runs in Brisbane on Monday, October 17.

Asked to bat first, India managed 186/7 in their 20 overs on the back of blistering fifties from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. Bhuvneshwar Kumar kept the Men in Blue in the hunt with a two-wicket haul before some excellent death bowling, particularly by Mohammad Shami in the final over, helped the team get off to a winning start Down Under.

Hardik Pandya struggled with both bat and ball

KL Rahul: 9/10

Rahul was in his element at the Gabba, smacking 57 off 33 in an outrageous display of shot-making. He was disappointed to be dismissed off a long hop.

Rohit Sharma: 5/10

Rohit, starved of strike, watched from the non-striker's end. He eventually fell for 15 in the ninth over.

Virat Kohli: 8.5/10

Kohli was proactive in the middle, managing 19 off 13 before failing to get on top of a Mitchell Starc short ball. He was electric on the field, with his stunning run-out of Tim David and one-handed catch in the final over being the decisive moments for India.

Suryakumar Yadav: 8/10

Suryakumar just seems to be on a different level at the moment. Although he slowed down a bit at the death, his 33-ball 50 was filled with imperious strokes.

Hardik Pandya: 2/10

Hardik had a tough outing. He spooned a catch to short third in meek fashion before bowling three expensive overs for 29 runs. The all-rounder needs to work out his ideal lengths.

Dinesh Karthik: 7.5/10

Karthik contributed 20 off 14 before holing out on the long boundary. He was good with the gloves.

Axar Patel: 5/10

Axar was happy to let his batting partners take the strike. Rather surprisingly, he wasn't required with the ball.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 8/10

Bhuvneshwar, for most of the game, was the lone bright spark in India's bowling. He dismissed Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell in his three overs, conceding 20 runs in the process.

Harshal Patel: 7/10

Harshal's first two overs were woeful as the Aussie batters found it all too easy to heave him over the leg-side boundary. In his third over, the 19th of the Australian innings, the fast bowler was close to his best. He castled a well-set Aaron Finch and sent down a series of accurate dipping yorkers.

Ravichandran Ashwin: 7/10

Ashwin bowled a tidy spell for the most part, conceding 28 runs in his four overs. The off-spinner might just be a better option than Yuzvendra Chahal. He even hit a six in the two balls he faced.

Arshdeep Singh: 6/10

Arshdeep dismissed Marcus Stoinis in his third over but wasn't at his accurate best. India will want him to find his rhythm against New Zealand.

Mohammad Shami: 10/10

Bowling just one over, Shami couldn't have done any better. His three wickets, along with a run-out, wrapped up the game for India.

Yuzvendra Chahal: 6/10

Chahal copped some stick in his second over, which went for 15 runs. Apart from that, he was fairly economical and scalped the wicket of Steve Smith.
