F1 Season 2011: From 'Laps' Point of View

The summer break is about to end in a weeks time. Lets have a look at the current season from statistics point of view, starting with the ‘Laps.’ Every grand prix has proposed laps and the completed laps, with many drivers missing the cut to finish entire laps and a one driver clocking fastest lap of the race.

In the 2011 F1 season, so far, only one team has managed to finish all the proposed laps of all the grand prixs held this year – Red Bull – undoubtedly, as they managed to finish 1362 laps this season so far, 100% laps finish record, with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber completing 681 laps each.

The Indian team, Force India is at second place completing 1308 laps out of possible 1362 laps, with Paul di Resta completing Resta 656 laps with out-qulaifying team-mate Adrian Sutil by 4 laps. The Italian squad, Ferrari, is at number three with 1273 laps, with Fernando Alonso completing 646 laps and Felipe Massa 627 laps. Next is Toro Rosso with 1261 laps – Sebastien Buemi being most reliable with 647 laps over Jaime Alguersuari’s 614 laps. Fifth is McLaren with Jenson Button’s consecutive retirements and some DNFs, the squad managed to complete 1261 laps, with Jenson Button completing 643 laps and Lewis Hamilton 618 laps.

The midfield is packed with Renault completing 1226 laps out of possible 1362, with Vitaly Petrov completing 662 laps and Nick Heidfeld 564 laps. Sauber F1 team has completed 1211 laps, with three drivers due to Sergion Perez’s accident in Monaco he missed two races and was replaced by Pedro De La Rosa for the next. Also the team finished Autralian grand prix but then was dis-qualified with post-race inspection.

Kamui Kobayashi has completed 648 laps, Sergio Perez 493 laps and Pedro de la Rosa 70 laps. Mercedes Has completed 1188 laps – Nico Rosberg with 639 laps and Michael Schumacher with 549 lpaps. The back marker Virgin Racing team has completed 1186 laps with Jerome d’Ambrosio 639 laps and Timo Glock 547 laps. Then Williams has managed to complete 1147 laps with Runes Barrichello completing 585 laps and Pastor Maldonado 562 laps. HRT F1 team has managed to step-up Team Lotus w.r.t. laps as they have completed 1085 laps with Vitantonio Liuzzi’s 532 laps, Narain Karthikeyan’s 381 and Daniel Ricciardo’s 170 laps.

The Team Lotus reamined the strong team out of back-markers with strong performances and ambition to strike the midfield, but they have only managed to complete 1052 laps out of possible 1362 laps, with Heikki Kovalainen completing 507 laps, Jarno Trulli 489 laps and Karun Chandhok who replaced Trulli for the German grand prix completed 56 laps.

Australian grand prix-

The grand prix had 58 proposed laps and only 9 drivers managed to finish entire laps, although after the race both Sauber drivers – Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez – were disqualified, while both HRT cars failed to qualify with 107% rule.

Malaysian grand prix-

The gp had 56 proposed laps and 11 drivers managed to finish all the laps.

Chinese grand prix-

The grand prix had 56 proposed laps and 14 drivers managed to finish entire race laps.

Total possible laps- 1344

Total completed laps – 1283

Turkish grand prix-

The grand prix had 58 proposed laps and 12 drivers managed to complete entire laps, with Timo Glock did not start the race.

Spanish grand prix-

The grand prix had 66 proposed laps and only 4 drivers from 2 teams – Red Bull and McLaren – finished entire laps.

Monaco grand prix-

The grand prix had 78 proposed laps and 6 drivers managed to finish entire laps.

The grand prix had 70 proposed laps and 12 drivers managed to complete all race laps.

The grand prix had 57 laps and only 7 drivers managed to finish entire laps.

The grand prix had 52 proposed laps and 12 drivers managed to finish entire race laps.

The grand prix had 60 proposed laps with 6 drivers completing all 60 laps.

The gp had 70 proposed laps and only 6 drivers – both the drivers from McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari – managed to finish entire laps.
