Kimi Raikkonen will not join team Red Bull

Red Bull’s motorsport consultant Helmut Marko has indicated that Kimi Raikkonen is not in the world champion team’s plans for 2014.

Daniel Ricciardo is considered to be Sebastian Vettel’s new teammate. Helmut Marko admitted that the team’s 2014 lineup will be announced this weekend in Belgium.

On Kimi Raikonen’s move to Ferrari next season, Marko said: “I’m not nervous. Don’t forget that we still have Vettel.”

It is clear that Red Bull has decided instead to sign Toro Rosso driver Ricciardo.

Marko further said: “[Ricciardo's signing] is not fixed yet.”

Team boss Franz Tost said, regarding Ricciardo: “I don’t know.”

The Finn had won the 2007 championship. He then left the sport in 2009 only to return in 2012, joining team Lotus. He ended the season finishing third in the driver’s championship.
