Four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel was recently seen exploring the deep forests of Nurburgring with children from a primary school. The tour was undertaken to teach the kids about sustainability and environmental protection.

In his retirement video, Vettel mentioned having a life off the racing track, and it seems he is making the most out of it. Known for his activist attitude on the Formula 1 grid, Vettel has carried on with his motive to save the environment and raise awareness.

In a recent video that surfaced online on X, he was seen in the Nurburgring forest, beside the legendary track with kids from a primary school.

In the video, Sebastian Vettel spoke about raising awareness about the protection of the environment and why it is necessary.

"Yes, we all need to do much, much more. I think that's how it is. The more you read, you somehow try to imagine. I think it's the time yesterday or the time today, not tomorrow or the day after."

According to him, spreading the word about nature will positively impact the masses and everyone can contribute according to their capacity.

"I think everyone can do a lot for themselves and even if it is so small, it can always become more and more, and in a positive way, can also be contagious and inspiring."

He further added that he wants to be a guide for the next generation, and hence, had the kids from primary school with him on his journey of exploration.

"So, I want to be the new general for the next generation."

Sebastian Vettel reveals F1 has become 'smaller' against his family amid rumours of his return

It has happened multiple times in the past when drivers returned from their 'retirements' in Formula 1. Michael Schumacher did it with Mercedes in 2010 and so did Fernando Alonso in 2021, and the same has been thought possible for Sebastian Vettel.

He has an amazingly large fanbase and tears were shed when he announced his retirement after the end of the 2022 season.

However, many kept their hopes up as they thought that he might decide to return in some later season. Speaking on the rumours of him returning much earlier to Ferrari in a managerial role, he revealed that he won't be doing it anytime soo. It is because he did not retire only to cancel it a year later. PlanetF1 quoted him as saying:

"My age isn’t the issue and it was my decision to draw the line. But I didn’t draw it just to cancel it a year later."

He then added that his family is his priority, and no matter how big the Formula 1 world is, it will only get smaller in front of his family.

"I have the privilege of spending more time with my family and my children, that is a priority. Just as I have rediscovered the world in recent years, Formula 1, no matter how big it may be, always has become smaller."

Despite not deciding to return to the grid anytime soon in any role, Sebastian Vettel has been around the track multiple times this season. He was present in Monaco earlier and also in Japan, again, spreading his word about nature and about the importance of protecting bees.
