Paul di Resta Interview: "I can do much better than this"

Paul Di Resta is a man with an unlimited potential. He has been performing impressively, and soon might earn a much-deserved podium finish for the Sahara Force India team. However, while the Scot is definitely fast and furious on the road, he seemed shy and reserved off it when we caught up with him for an interview.

You finished 4th in today’s race. Are you disappointed of missing the podium?

Yes, it hurts having missed it by a whisker.

Would you rate this as your best performance till date for the Force India team?

Yes, since this has been the closest to the podium. However, I am positive that I can do much better than this. This was one of the toughest races. A huge amount of credit goes to my team.

How has the season been for you so far?

It has been a good season for me as well as my team. We have had good races and collected more points as compared to last year. We have good cars as well and we are improving with every race.

Are you feeling more confident now?

Yes, I have always been confident about myself and my driving. I hope to keep up with the momentum and do better.

Are you looking forward to the Indian Grand Prix?

Well, we are going to be the home team and I know there will be huge expectations from us. We would like to put up a great show there.

How well a team would you rate Sahara Force India as?

We are a good team. We don’t have as good facilities (in terms of cars) as the likes of Red Bull or Ferrari have, but whatever we have got, we try to make the best use of.

Are you open to offers from other teams ?

Yes, let’s see. I think I am ready to be a part of teams which are consistently winning. Till then I will give my best for my current team.

Are you fond of Indian food?

I am a big time foodie. I think food is my weakness as I can go on eating anything which you keep in front of me. That’s a big drawback as I have to keep myself fit. I like the non-vegetarian food in India, but am more fond of Italian food.

How is Mr. Vijay Mallya as a team owner?

Oh! Vijay is a great man. He is always supportive and encouraging. On days when we don’t perform well, he cheers us up with his jokes and asks everyone to just chill and relax.
