Sergio Perez and Paul Di Resta get hot and bothered over 2013 McLaren seat

Paul Di Resta and the newly appointed Mclaren-Mercedes driver Sergio Perez, got into a war of words when Paul Di Resta revealed that the McLaren team chose Sergio over him because of the money that Sergio brings with his Mexican backing.

“Money’s tight,” said di Resta. “Perez has some good backing.”

But the young Mexican hit out at this Jibe by following comments on his twitter page:

“Money can buy you a seat but never the results.

“I say it to those who still doubt it,” he added in his native Spanish.

Earlier, when Sergio Perez made his visit to the McLaren technology center, he made it clear that the “pay driver” tag angers him and said that people often forget the sacrifices he had to make very early in his career.

“It made me angry at the beginning as people didn’t realise what I had sacrificed. I had to leave my family when I was 15 and live above a restaurant in Germany,” he is quoted by the Daily Mail.

“But sooner or later you learn how to deal with it.”

Earlier, before Michael Schumacher announced his retirement, Paul Di Resta was touted as the best replacement of the German veteran due to his Mercedes links in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM). But, unfortunately for Paul, Mercedes were in such a phase that they needed a driver of exceptional driving skills, which probably Hamilton has got.

Even after Lewis Hamilton signed with Mercedes, Paul was optimistic of getting a seat with his home team McLaren and he recently did reveal that he was in talks with the McLaren management.

So, its no surprise that the young Scot has taken a jibe at Sergio Perez after failing to secure a seat with either of the top team.
