Manchester United have been reported as favourites to land Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente this summer.

The Athletic Bilbao forward has been linked with several clubs in recent weeks, with Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Spurs confirming interest in the Spanish International.

Llorente, 27, stated a few weeks ago that he could be ready to move to the Premier League and has recently stalled on a new contract with Athletic.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed on MUTV this week that he is looking to bring in one or two more signings in this transfer window and if Dimitar Berbatov departs, it will leave the boss with only three strikers to choose from.

Llorente scored home and away against United in last season’s UEFA cup tie and Fergie has a history of buying players who do well against his team.
